Freeport, Wind Ridge County Maps: Greene Description: This is an alternate way to begin your Dunkard Fork trip if you do not want to portage Ryerson Park Dam. It is a farming valley with a road paralleling the creek most of the way. [Reported 1996] Difficulties: Watch for fallen trees and debris piles on the curves Shuttle: The put-in is a quarter of a mile north of Smith Bridge on State Route 3001. To reach the take‑out, follow State Route 3001 north to the mouth of the creek at Ryerson Station, or continue downstream following the instructions for Dunkard Fork. Gauge: None. Check from the road. Normal Wet Period: No available statistics on seasons. Since this section is tiny, it should normally be runnable only after a heavy rain or during spring snowmelt. |
